What coulda the issue?

The bike started overheating after a 5 minute ride reaching temps of 240f, I pulled over and shut the bike off and this happened. I went home and flushed the bike and this is what the coolant looked like. There is no white smoke. As you can see in the 4th photo I did break the coolant drain screw inside of the water cooler a couple weeks ago so I'm guessing mabye air is getting into the system causing this? I never replaced it because honestly it wasn't even leaking where I broke the screw so I assumed it was just fine. Let me know your thoughts please
