At the 2018 Bike Shed show in London 239 amazing custom motorcycles from around the UK and Europe were presented. Many projects are interesting, but now we want to stop our attention on the bike by Scotland's X-Axis workshop, run by the former British MXGP champion, Billy MacKenzie. After 20 years of racing, Billy decided to leave racing to focus on building custom bikes. Since then he’s built an impressive number of custom motorcycles, working with friends and partners Keith and Guy Amor.
At the motor show Billy presented an interesting project Honda CBX750 1984, which was ordered by Isle of Man TT racing legend Keith Amor.
Project details:
- inspiration: Ferrari GTO 288 / Ferrari Testarossa
- custom cooling system, reinforced hoses, new radiator
- a CBR600 fork
- original front wheel
- front brakes: larger wheels, new calipers
- lightweight frame
- 2into1 dual exhaust system
- custom tail
- custom designed subframe
- racing foot pegs
- YSS rear shock upgrade.
