Suzuki-SAIAD GT750 S Vallelunga is a two-stroke Japanese motorcycle made by the Italians. Nowadays it’s rare to see one of these bikes, but the Soiatti Moto Classiche workshop has just found and restored one.
Soiatti Moto Classiche opened its doors in 1978. It was founded by Daniele Soiatti – a motocross racer, who ended his career in the late 70s. Today Daniele and his son Alberto (below) restore motorcycles from the 1970s, which often arrive in their Novara workshop in very bad condition. The Soiattis usually works on Japanese superbikes, but sometimes takes on Zündapp and SWM motorcycles.
The Suzuki-SAIAD GT750 S Vallelunga is a special motorcycle that Daniel restored with increased attentiveness. In fact, it’s one of around a hundred motorcycles, released by the Turin-based Suzuki dealer SAIAD in the mid 70s. Compared to a stock GT750 version, the SAIAD had 10 hp more power and weighed only 190 kg (against 245 kg). The exhaust specialist Figaroli created a lightweight, more efficient exhaust system, and Angelo Menani supplied the featherweight fiberglass bodywork, rear sets and clip-ons (the 1.9-liter oil tank is actually hidden in the tail section). Its top speed was 225 km / h. The Vallelunga model turned out to be sosuccessful that the manufacturer added it to the model lineup.
