Though Balamutti Workshop has only been on our radar for a short time, the Russian customs outfit has quickly demonstrated an undeniable knack for transforming Ducati L-Twins into heavily-modified forced induction one-off two-wheelers. And now, shortly after unveiling its supercharged Hypermotard ice racer, the St. Petersburg-based builder has pulled the cover off yet another blown build from the Bologna brand, this time dubbed “The Strontium.”
Starting with an early-to-mid 2000s Monster S4R, the Italian naked’s 996cc superbike engine has been treated to a massive Garrett GT35 turbo, plus all the necessary accompanying plumbing and manifolds — no easy feat by any means — including the new intake and exhaust units nestled just under the right rear-set. Gone is the entirety of the Monster’s distinctive tail, and headlight assembly, with the stock bodywork having been replaced by a beautiful bolt-on kit from Italy’s Paolo Tex, which has been hit with a custom turquoise and royal blue livery with white outlining and race numbers. Rounding out the turbo-charged Monster is a set of fenders, belly-pan, chain guard, belt-covers, and an open clutch cover that are all made from carbon fiber.
