Cafe racers have hit their peak in popularity recently. But that doesn’t mean that people are going to stop making interesting ones. Not by a long shot. In fact, these motorcycles have gotten to the point where their accessibility has extended their reach the world-round. And while that means we’re getting to see new examples from across the globe, it also means we’re getting to see regional spins on these bikes. One such example can be found in this 1980 Honda CB750 by Ace Custom Shop.

Started in Columbia by a pair of brothers and their mechanic friend in 2013, this bike shop decided to build a version of a cafe racer that could handle the perilous streets of their hometown, Bucaramanga. That meant swapping the front fork and converting the rear monoshock with parts from a Honda CB1000RR – a late model standard motorcycle. The engine has also gone through a cleaning and overhaul – including having been fit with a 4-into-1 exhaust and a new Dynatek ignition – giving this bike a little extra juice. The end result is a motorcycle that’s a bit heavier than your average cafe racer, but does wonders on uneven and winding roads.
