No matter how radical, fast, and tech-savvy superbikes get, the ‘90s sportbike era still remains popular as ever among enthusiasts. Owing to this, we see several bike shops prepare custom projects inspired by the said era and the one you see here is no different.
What makes this build special, however, is that it started out as a Triumph Speed Triple, and gained truckloads of components (including fairings) to become a race bike from the beloved 90s.
The idea behind this project was to blend modern sportbike performance with the charm of old-school race bikes, and that’s exactly what this custom Speed Triple does. Up top, the bespoke fairings have come straight from a Honda RC30, though, with several alterations to fit them on the Speed Triple’s body. Complementing the front half is a custom-made tail section inspired by the Ducati 916, which keeps the retro vibe going.
Speaking of retro, Tumulte made sure to wrap everything in a classic British livery featuring a deep green base coat accentuated by golden and white stripes.
Design aside, the custom bike gets a handful of functional upgrades too. For instance, the single-piece handlebar and OEM footpegs have made way for low clip-ons and custom rear-sets to bring the riding triangle in line with the sporty aesthetics. And when you do take it for a spin, you will also appreciate the symphonic music produced by the twin Arrow exhausts.
There aren’t any notable changes to the Speed Triple’s 1050cc, three-cylinder engine except for a quickshifter, so expect this to put out 130 horsepower and 105Nm, same as the stock bike.
For the final touches, Tumulte equipped the custom bike with bar-end LED indicators, bar-end mirrors, a custom leather saddle, and a repositioned number plate to keep the new tail squeaky clean.
In case you’re wondering, there are no alterations to either the chassis or the suspension. Similarly, the bike keeps its single-sided swingarm, which, if anything, brings it more in line with the Honda RC30.
