Despite unable to brag on any bike-building experience, Roy dreamed of creating a custom frame for the VTR Firestorm and basically creating a new bike, altogether. Yes, just like the big names in the custom world do!
After getting some poor, cheap bending machine and failing at creating the necessary parts for the frame, the two brothers knew it was time to get serious and went for a set of much better tools. Things started to look better immediately and the frame parts were fabricated. Roy taught himself how to weld and use a lathe, so he started to create and modify pretty much anything he needed.
He even made two rear subframes for the bike, with one of them also housing an auxiliary fuel tank for extended range. The chopped tank was sourced from a Honda Superdream; the lateral cutout for the filters left us gazing in awe.
With the mid-ship section ready, Roy went for a single-sided VFR800 swingarm and a Hayabusa fork with minimal instruments for a cleaner look. Believe it or not, the bike flew through the Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) tests, save for the noisy exhaust, but we all know this matter can be easily fixed.
With their first bike, now named Rogue receiving immense praise, brothers Clive and Roy and they brother-in-law Jay are thinking to start selling production frame kits, have already bought better gear and are also eying other projects. Oh, and Roy's already gotten another VTR for chopping, so we'll surely be hearing about these chaps...
