What was your intended objective when you started the build?
I basically wanted to create a bike that was one of a kind… had some originality. I started out thinking about building a bobber, but as the project progressed the true feel, look and style of the bike started to show itself.
What motivated you to start your project?
Always wanted a bike and always loved the custom bobber/cafe racer styles.
Bikes are cool… plain and simple… & need I say more?
What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?
When I stripped the bike down and started adding custom parts, I tried my best to make sure it looked like it was supposed to be part of the bike, so parts such as the seat and rear fender followed the lines of the bike.
What are you most proud of?
The air filters were totally custom built.
I installed the plenum off of a Honda V45 Sabre so I could easily add open air filters to the sides of the airbox. Instead of installing the common filter pods that most builders use I used a pair of high flow oval K&N filters and custom designed and built the filter holders. I had a friend 3D print extensions for the airbox and then cut covers from a sheet of aluminum.
The other part of the bike I’m proud of is the tank, after stripping to it bare metal and revealing & all the dents and bodywork that had been done I realized, after re-painting and repairing, that I preferred the bare metal look, especially with all the dents showing so I stripped it again and applied a clear coat to the bare metal. The bare metal, dents and all just felt so right for the bike.
What do other people say about your motorcycle?
It’s been well received, comments include: Badass! Nice ride! LOVE IT!
I’ve even had people in cars pull up beside me on the street and yell out their window “That’s a BADASS bike man! NICE!”
