Adventures of YB125 in Peru, part 2

I will continue the story of how YB125 travels around Peru.
We bought a motorcycle in a small Yamaha store in the town of Chachapoyas, Amazonas.
Contrary to the established opinion (even among the Peruvians), the Amazonas are not only jungles. The large territory of the state is in a mountainous area above 2000 meters. Near Chachapoyas is a very beautiful and ancient archaeological zone - the ruins of the city of Kuelap.

Also there are huge and long caves with mountains of skulls and bones (the ancients apparently believed that caves are the entrance to the posthumous world)

There is the third highest waterfall in the world, Gokta, about 700 meters high, in which one Korean fell 2 weeks after we visited it. Naturally crashed to death, and the waterfall was closed to visit for several weeks.

There people drink compote (chicha morada) from black corn, eat six-fingered guinea pigs (kui), celebrate almost every week and in general are very nice people.

Also earlier the culture of Chachapoy lived there. After them, there were sarcophagi on the steep cliffs inside which they buried their relatives. And often it is unclear how they climbed so high.

Every year in July, the Chacha-Dakar race takes place. Participants are from all over Peru. Sometimes even foreigners can be seen on the tourenduro. The route passes through the mountains, country roads and villages.

We certainly did not drive with our YB125. But we wanted to come back here in 5 years and take part!
Soon 3 months passed, and we already had to go further - towards the city of Huaraz and the national park of Huaskaran. And this is about 1500 km on the most interesting roads, some of which I have already shown in the first part.

One evening we came to little-known hot springs. We fell asleep alone, woke up in moto-camping! just at night the family came on motorcycles and they liked how we stand! :) Pay attention - garbage. Garbage here is not only because people simply throw it (although for this reason), but also because dogs carry from the garbage. Know that if you do not sort your garbage and do not care about disposal, most likely the same thing happens to him, just not at the nearest glade.

Hot springs are a large pool, into which a jet of yellow boiling water flows with the smell of iron. If you come at 4 a.m., you can only be alone, meet the sunset and swim...)

A little later, the children from the surrounding villages are already coming and begin to have fun and raise the turbidity from the bottom of the pool.

Sometimes we spend the night right in the field with a tent. And in the morning we are pleased to see how the locals beat the wheat out of the wheat ears and greet us with a smile.

Sometimes serpentines are so steep and dangerous that you start to pay attention to the signs.

In the next part we will approach the glaciers above 4,500 meters above sea level.
