Adventures of YB125 in Chile, part 14

By tradition, today there will be many stories and photos. Let's go!

Almost every ferry in Patagonia is Balsa. This Balsa is no longer functioning:

In 2008, they began to build a new road, but so far it has been cut off 50 meters above the same river. I'm eager to go there, to the other side.

Crossings through fjords look usually like this:

This thing is the pivot of punctuality and its best simulator. If you late for 5 minutes, you'll wait for three hours for the next voyage where the road just comes and goes into the water of the fjord, and there's nothing else.

The San Lorenzo Range, which in Aisen is simply called Cochran - includes one of the highest peaks of Patagonia. And yet, the border between Chile and Argentina passes exactly on the watershed of this mountain. The majestic mountain is covered with glaciers, and the peculiarity of them is that two out of three (all of them on the Argentine side) are growing (in the photo the same one on the Chilean side is dying).
Almost every day we put a tent in beautiful places. We are fishing, we wait for the end of the rain, we wait until another patch on the camera dries, sometimes we go on small hikes ...

After we reached the end of the Carretera Austral, to the village of O'Higgins, we had to turn back to look for a crossing the border with Argentina, as crossing O'Higgins Lake and then going on was not possible. Only pedestrians and cyclists with bicycles on their shoulders, as well as endurists can pass there. It would not have been possible for our motorcycle.

Taking advantage of the weather, we rushed to the San Lorenzo hill. It's amazing how different it looks from the Carreter Austral and near ... It's only part of the ridge.

It seems that this is the most beautiful view of the mountains in Chile. We were both in shock :) and even our Friend became silent in amazement ...

To be continued....
