Adventures of YB125 in Uruguay. Part 2
The tiny historical district Colonia del Sacramento is an architectural world heritage of UNESCO. The Portuguese colony originally, at different times, fell under the wing of the Spaniards, then back Portuguese. Today, in the old defensive wall, paving stones and masonry of some buildings, you can find pieces of petrified wood.
This is a tourist place, very, very small, but it does not lose its charm.
Do you have such a city, a name of the city that you heard once or seen on the map, but never asked "what's there?", "Who lives there?", "What's going on there?". A city that you never imagined and not only do not think that you will appear there, but simply do not think about it at all. Do you have such a town?
For us, it was Montevideo.
Our favorite is the Museum of Pre-Columbian art. For the filling of such museums in the southern cone, the cultures of Central America and the north of the South usually respond. The main exhibits came from the territories of present-day Mexico and Peru. And of course ... through private collections.
The capital was left behind. Convinced that the Uruguay hydrometeorological center is working properly, and predicts the weather very accurately, we decided to wait a week of the rains on the coast. We love rain! And the rain with the ocean especially :) Then the Uruguay River finally ended and the water ceased to be the color of tea with milk.
Oh yeah!) Photos!) Starting from the north of Argentina - the beaches are strewn with such balls as in the photo below. the local people have different versions. But we are inclined to believe that these are bags from the clutches of large clams that we found in Argentina. Maybe there are experts with reliable data? What is it?
Winter on the coast of Uruguay is a dead season. The closer to the ocean, the more beautiful the house. Here they know the price of the view and therefore the most diverse architectural solutions are united by one - huge windows and spacious verandas. Beautifully))) we admire and jokingly estimate, in what house to settle for a month or two ...
And here among this is something that could be called the next miracle of the world - traces of herbivorous dinosaurs. In total, 12 sectors in the district were found with similar traces, but only 2 are indicated - however, and these will probably disappear soon. Yes, we will find traces of dinosaurs in Uruguay! (if anyone does not remember, we talked about the traces of dinosaurs we found in Peru and Chile)
In the next part, expect the beginning of the Brazil tour, the country where we spent almost half a year and even began to speak Portuguese a little.
