Progress report. Over the weekend I managed to get the timing gears back onto the bike.

The good news is that as the crank shaft nut and the cam gears were tightened the crank has loosened up very slightly easing my mind on that score as well.

New Morgo oil pump and oil pressure valve fitted as well....

Some photo's

Now it's time to get the gearbox sorted. Here's what I'm working with from a donor bike...

Interestingly my cam plate - specifically the profile - doesn't seem to match the diagram in the workshop manual where it set's out the indexing for each gear.

It's difficult (for me anyway) to work out which position is first and which is fifth. Did the 5 speed cam plate change over time??

Despite this its nice to be able to use parts I acquired months ago at last....

Cheers

That cam plate doesn't look like the one in 76 T140V engine

      Bambi,
      Hmmm. Interesting.

I will get some proper photo's of the cam plate and post these before I go much further - back soon.

The gearbox is perhaps the biggest obstacle for me at the moment so I'm going slow and cautious.....

      Cheers
