This year, Deus ex Machina hosted the Sardinia Classic Deus Swank Rally, trying to reproduce the original rally of Sardinia. They also prepared a special Yamaha XSR700 for the event, piloted by Marco Aurelio Fontana.

Deus ex Machina experts tried to expand the off-road ability of the motorcycle. First, they installed a complete Yamaha Super Ténéré 1200 front-end, including its 19” tubeless front wheel. The fork was tuned to match the XSR’s lower weight. Rear suspension was completely redone: they installed a new linkage along with an Öhlins shock out back. The rear wheel is Kineo plus the relevant tires.
