From 28 to 31 July, a meeting for Polaris dealers is held in Minneapolis, dedicated to updating the model ranges. This year, the Concern marks the 65th anniversary, and it brought a wide range of products, including all-terrain vehicles and Indian motorcycles. For the Indian brand this meeting became a preparatory ground before the public display of all the new products - either in Sturgis, where one of the largest motorcycle festivals in the USA will take place in early August, or at the EICMA show in the fall.Employees of some dealerships published videos and photos of real models from the presentation.
The star of the evening was the Indian Challenger – a bagger on a new platform, equipped with a new engine. The photos and videos were uploaded to Facebook and offer a look at the motorcycle headlights and the name of the engine. The video reveals the engine will be called the Powerplus 108, adopting a name first used for an Indian motorcycle produced from 1916 to 1924. The engine will have a claimed output of about 120 hp. Here is a part of the video:
Also a lot of interesting details were shown for the younger Scout models. Although it is already 5 years old,the number of its stock accessories is quite modest, and remains below even the one-year-old FTR 1200. The company decided to fix it. For the cruiser, they announced a compact batwing in the style of the Chieftain model, new wardrobe trunks, a central mini wardrobe trunk, as well as 2-into-1 full exhaust system and a shortly slip-on mufflers kit.
By the way, this year Indian Scout marks its 100th anniversary: for the first time a motorcycle with this name appeared in October 1919,and a limited edition of Scouts in the classic Indian Red color with gold stripes and a logo will be released in honor of the anniversary.
