The other day it became known that all the charges were dropped from the British motorcycle racer Guy Martin.
Earlier, the famous motorcycle racer, TV presenter and truck mechanic Guy Martin were summoned to court. There he was accused of falsifying a driver’s license.
According to the investigation, from December 4, 2017, to May 15, 2018, the man kept documents “very reminiscent of Irish rights”. Prosecutors were confident that he “hoped to cheat the law” with their help. He was also charged with forgery. The prosecutor stated that Guy possessed Irish documents solely to obtain a British driver's license.
The alleged fraud was uncovered when Martin tried to add new categories of rights. In particular, the charismatic Briton planned to open a category for trucks.
Martin himself pleaded not guilty. He asked that the consideration be rescheduled to the Royal Lincoln Court, where he could appear no earlier than December 13th.
Martin himself at the Royal Lincoln Court said he denied owning a driver’s license to deceive the law.
Judge Simon Hurst said: “The prosecution admits that is possible that Mr. Martin thought that he has a genuine license.” Since Martin combines the work of a TV presenter and a mechanic, as well as judging by his words, he went through a lot of work in Northern Ireland. Therefore, he received a license, which he considered genuine.
The prosecutor said at the hearing that the psychiatrists they contacted concluded that Martin did not always use common sense and was inclined to perceive what people were saying at face value.
Attorney Michael Cranmer-Brown, in turn, stated that his autism problems also made him “vulnerable enough for others to see him as an easy target.”
