Tom Reiser's accomplishments extend to both drag racing and hill climbing. Riding out of the A.D. Farrow Harley-Davidson dealership in Columbus, Ohio, Reiser won his first hill climbing championship in 1964, and came into national prominence in 1965 when Tom Wolfe wrote about one of his drag racing motorcycles in the New York Herald Tribune.
In 1968, his Harley-Davidson-powered Super Sportster--ridden by Bob Barker--won every event it entered and earned one world and two national championships. Reiser again won national hill climbing titles in 1992 and 1993, and has since sponsored others to four national titles on his machines. These include Steve Dresser in 1965 and James Large in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
