To help celebrate 50 years of the “M” brand in BMW, your favorite German manufacturer is releasing today the heavily worded BMW M1000RR 50 Years M Edition superbike.

Based on the already spicy BMW M1000RR, in all its carbon fiber glory, the 50 Years M Edition model brings extensive use aluminum and carbon parts, featuring a light-silver anodized aluminum swingarm, M GPS lap trigger, a M endurance chain, and passenger seat and seat cover.

You can get it in any color you want, so long as its “Sao Paulo Yellow” – which is pretty striking, if you ask us.

The rest of the BMW M1000RR 50 Years M Edition is basically your standard BMW M1000RR superbike, which is anything but bland of course.

The four-cylinder 999cc engine makes 209hp (156 kW) and peak torque at 83 lbs•ft (113 Nm), and the whole machine tips the scales at 423 lbs ready-to-ride, thanks to its carbon wings and wheels.

On the electronics side, there are four standard ride modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Race) along with three Race Pro modes. All of these are tied into the six-axis IMU, with dynamic traction control.

BMW also has two adjustable throttle curves, so you can tune engine response, and there are three engine braking maps as well, in the Race Pro modes.

The up/down quickshifter is standard, as is the launch control, pit-lane limiter, and Hill Start Control Pro feature. BMW will make you shell out some more coin if want to use the data-logging features, however.

Pricing is set at $36,995 MSRP, which breaks down to $32,495 for the bike plus $4,500 for the required 50 Years M Package, which is about where the M1000RR lands on pricing once it is given its typical spec.

Expect the BMW M1000RR 50 Years M Edition to arrive at US dealerships starting in Q3 2022.
