Behold the War Monkey Custom Motorcycles built KP Mini 150cc Café Racer. An idea that was sparked by the custom culture café builds of classic barn finds. How could we make a brand new bike look 40+ years old?
First we completely tore down the original bike and chopped the frame into a café style racer. We then found a vintage motorcycle tank that was in excellent condition and began to visualize the vintage Honda CB and Yamaha XS era bikes currently being brought back to life with new suspension and brakes. Then the magic happened! We contacted our good friends at Sweet Fixins Garage and shared the idea of a rust/patina color bike. When we say it was magic, we mean it was magic. Not only did they make a realistic looking rust/patina color, they actually made the texture of real rust. The custom patina color stitching on the King Ranch leather seat is a perfect match.
Next up was lights, power and performance. We decided slim is better and installed a Zero Gravity batter under the seat with an integrated LED taillight. Oversized 7" LED front headlight with matching rust/patina paint to make sure you can see on those nights that bar hopping is the plan. The stock gold color forks, clip on bars, CNC Sport Bike Levers and stock red brake calipers replicated the great CB builds that take a vintage bike but upgrade the performance. Finishing out the build with a Performance NIBBI carburetor just seemed natural considering NIBBI has risen to rockstar status in the performance carb world these days. Wrapped pipes, custom painted rear sets for pegs, Vans grips and an integrated push button starter hidden in the end of the grip makes this build absolutely unique and one of a kind!
This bike has been featured at the Denton Independent Motorcycle Show, The Dallas International Motorcycle Show and the AMD World Championship Bike show.
