Adventures of YB125 in Chile, part 7
As usual, we continue)
After Valparaiso, we looked in Pichélemu, a mecca of surfers from all over the world, because there are very good waves in this place all year round. We worked in a small hotel for a couple of weeks, and in our spare time we drove around the neighborhood, admired the sunset and surfed.
The salt mines in Chile near Pichilem differ from those we saw earlier. On the shores of a large lake with an exit to the ocean, such dryers are arranged here. Salt water is pounded in them and then, as usual, is evaporated. Unusually, especially because the lake is surrounded by low wooded hills.
Completely forgot to tell that in Santiago we visited a very interesting museum of the pre-Columbian era. If you are in the capital of Chile, check it!
The Museum of pre-Columbian culture in Santiago can not be called great, it can not even be compared closely with the anthropological museum in Mexico City. But, despite the relatively small number of exhibits, their uniqueness sometimes surpasses all that was seen before. A stunning exhibition is collected, including through private collections and covers almost all cultures of the New World from present-day Mexico to Patagonia.
Against our plans on New Year's Eve we were in hot springs, all alone, in the rays of streetlights and the light of stars.
Quite by chance, we found out that the dinosaurs also had their heritage in Chile (before that, who remembers we met them in Peru) and went again to look for their tracks!
In the morning public terms it was fun. We were the only foreigners in the countryside, and one of the few tourists. In the pool, besides us, there were six more Chileans who came from nearby villages.
After taking the baths, we went out on a small hike and after a few hours we finally reached the point from which the view of the huge slab creeping out from the soft rocks opened ... You can't see the scale of the wall and traces, but all the variety of the stitch- tracks that are left of the legs of dinosaurs. And this is something amazing. Treasure! This is the coolest time machine to date :)
The surface is almost vertical. According to the most clear prints, scientists confidently identified three types of dinosaurs. But there are so many tracks that it is possible that the track left a greater variety. The most ancient, the most truthful fairy tale about the unknown world ... A letter to the future for 200-250 million (!) Years ...
To be continued....)
