Famous moto brand Cagiva is officially going to be revived, and by the end of the year they promise a new lineup. MV Agusta Motor Company uses the brand to enter the electric two-wheeled market.
Giovanni Castiglioni officially confirmed the initiative, that is, the iconic Italian brand will be revived in modern form. Italians are planning to produce electric motorcycles under the Cagiva brand, which will be somewhere between an e-bike and a full-blown electric motorcycle - this is a new category, that was also announced by KTM CEO Stefan Pierer.
“I believe in electric. There is a great potential, and we are making a project there – under another brand – which is Cagiva,” said Giovanni Castiglioni.
In the future, the electric version of the Cagiva Elefant may appear, but will first start with sport-focused off-road bikes with electric powertrains. We are talking about an electric bike at the level between a downhill mountain bike and a 125-cc four-stroke enduro.
“We are investing in lightweight fun vehicles. I'm talking about something average between the bike and the electric motorcycle, "Giovanni said. - "If you want to go 300 mph, buy a combustion engine. I think that the electric market has great potential. We’ll see in the next five years how the market will change. I think there is a great opportunity for that.”
In general, it is really interesting. We are waiting for more specific news, concepts, new models.
