The project we’ll be admiring today hails from an ambitious Taiwan-based enterprise named Cowboy’s Chopper. In the past, we featured a couple of their most notable exploits on these very pages, including a handsome Kawasaki Z1000 and a downright feral creature based on a 2009 Ducati Hypermotard 1100.

Now, let’s take a second to drool over yet another fascinating piece of machinery brewed on this workshop’s premises. For this venture, the chosen donor was a fearsome Sportster XR1200 from Harley-Davidson's almighty lineup, which the Taiwanese specialists have customized over the course of four painstaking months. While this may not be the first bespoke Sportster we’ve come across, it’s certainly one of the sexiest we've ever seen!

In stock form, Milwaukee’s beast is powered by a twin-cooled V-twin behemoth with two valves per cylinder and a gargantuan displacement of no less than 1,202cc. At 7,000 revs, this bad boy is capable of producing up to 90 hp, accompanied by 74 pound-feet (100 Nm) of brutal torque at about 3,700 rpm. The engine’s force is channeled to a belt final drive via a five-speed transmission, enabling the Sportster to accelerate from zero to 60 mph (96 kph) in just four seconds.

The powertrain modules are nested inside a mild steel tubular frame, which rests on 43-mm (1.7inch) Showa inverted forks at the front. On the other end, suspension duties are taken good care of by dual coilover shock absorbers and a double-sided swingarm. Stopping power is supplied by twin 292-mm (11.5-in) discs and Nissin four-piston calipers up front, joined by a single 260-mm (10.24-in) brake rotor and a one-piston caliper at the rear.

Taiwan’s moto surgeons kicked the transformation off by manufacturing a selection of custom bodywork items in-house. At the front, you will find a menacing fairing hugging the fork legs, joined by an alloy tail section at the rear and a slim fuel tank in between. These juicy things do one hell of a job at looking the business.

As soon as work on the bespoke body panels was concluded, the CC crew proceeded to honor the Sportster’s ungodly V-twin with a thorough overhaul, increasing its displacement to 1,250cc. Additionally, they installed a stainless-steel inlet that hosts a custom air filter, along with a one-off exhaust system on the other end of the combustion cycle.

Up front, the forks were modified to reduce ground clearance by as many as four inches (102 mm), which brings about a level bone line. Furthermore, the stock handlebars were discarded to make room for a pair of clip-on alternatives, complemented by aftermarket rear-mounted foot pegs for good measure. A set of bar-end mirrors adorns the fresh clip-ons, while the bike’s gauge cluster has been relocated on the left-hand-side of the gas tank.

To further enforce the desired clutter-free aesthetic, the gifted craftsmen replaced the original lighting components with an assortment of top-grade LED counterparts on both ends. Last but not least, the finishing touch comes in the form of an ominous gloss black finish applied to just about everything from the bodywork and engine covers to the forks and wheels. Needless to say, this monstrous Sportster guarantees to soothe each and every last corner of your moto-loving gearhead soul!
