Adventures of YB125 in Uruguay. Part 1

I continue the story of traveling with my wife in South America on a motorcycle Yamaha YB125 named "Friend". In this story, we will talk about the journey through a small country - Uruguay. By tradition, today there will be many stories and photos. Let's go!

our first morning in Uruguay on the bank of the river Uruguay

In Uruguay, winter is noticeably softer, warmer than in Argentina. Now every morning in the tent begins with a check of shoes and equipment. Look what we found!

The river Uruguay is another vivid impression! Indians, which are "traditional" here for South America, were simply destroyed, called this river a river of colored birds. Actually it sounded like this, "Uruguay". Beautiful ... The river flows into the Gulf of Rio de la Plata, which divides the two countries, which, due to their vastness, makes the countries mutually invisible.
You can get from Argentina to Uruguay on an expensive ferry, but you can make a loop to the river and the International Bridge. We chose the second option also in order to see the river itself. What to say! Impressions are exciting. In the night the river flood smells of leaves, fish, cows. So bright, so we missed that again turned into two deer, sucking in the thick air :)
Along the river Uruguay is really still a lot of colored birds and this is a special gift to wake up in the tent for their singing)) But the water level is now unusually high in the river. In Brazil, there was a lot of rain, and the river unloads a good part of the south of the country.

What is Uruguay?
First of all, they are calm, benevolent people. The passage of the border, customs and sanitary control turned into a long pleasant conversation (which, by the way, slightly changed our plans in the future).

Also a motorcycle owner. Japanese 50cc Yamaha, which is now about forty years. He says nothing changed in it, everything is from the factory. Beautiful)

Small Uruguay has three sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List. One of them is not material, another - architectural and, finally, the third - industrial, which is unique in that. There are no more than ten such objects in the list around the world. This is the Museum of the Industrial Revolution or Anglo Industrial Park in the small town of Fray Bento.

The factory was a big surprise for us. The skepticism quickly disappeared. "What can a cannery tell?", We thought ... But it turned out, can tell a lot! Especially in the scale of a small country.

Have you ever had such a situation: you are looking for accommodation on Airbnb, choosing the right one, and the answer is written to you: "I already found you on facebook, come for free!" That's Uruguay!
This is Al, the same Airbnb host who wrote to us "come for free" :) Al has a brother Arlando, who is now traveling around South America on a motorcycle. Actuallyshe rent his house during his absence)

To be continued...
