What do you do if you find an old, slightly rusty, blue metal box with a worn checkerboard pattern decoration while decluttering?
Exactly, you don’t throw the antique thing straight into the garbage, but keep the good piece and let it inspire you to do something bigger – and that’s the idea for the design of our new one BMW RnineT Conversion in the “Gentleman Oldschool Look” born.
For this we got a BMW RnineT and painted the tank and the front fender in three layers with different shades of blue. Then we carefully removed the top layers of varnish in places to reveal the underlying blue tones and a slightly worn one Retro-Design to create. Then an even pattern was created using an ingenious stencil using the airbrush method checkerboard pattern were applied and finished rust effects created with a special metal powder technique. In addition to the tank and the front fender, we also added rusty highlights to the shock absorber and a valve cover to set even more retro accents.
We replaced the side tank covers in the knee area of the RnineT driver with specially made aluminum plates, which were padded with foam and then with a Kederbezug made of slightly faded blue leather and topstitching. To do justice to the “gentleman old school” look, we have an old one on the right side pocket watch attached so that the driver can always read the time in proper style. A thorn in our side was the silver and black clad intake snorkel of the original RnineT, which is why we dressed it up in a vintage coffee sack fabric to give it that “Café Racer” feel. This fabric paneling is rounded off with two matching decorative buckles made of brown leather.
Die bench ours BMW RnineT was reupholstered and covered with light beige imitation leather in used look. Our stable ABS fenders for the rear tire offers optimal splash protection for the spring strut, the exhaust system, the collector, the rear substructure and the passenger. So that the color of the mudguard harmonises with the rest of the design of our motorcycle, we have the mudguard bracket in a matching one Goldton painted, as well as the driver’s seat supports on both sides and the throttle body cover on the left-hand side. We also have the RnineT manifold with a gold colored one heat protection tape wrapped. The stern of ours RnineT we made it cleaner by replacing the rear license plate holder with a side license plate holder replaced and also another Taillight installed. Our side stand extension ensures a secure footing on all surfaces and ours fork crash pads protect the fork of the motorcycle from damage. Another highlight of our RnineT is the headlight insert AC Schnitzer Light Bomb, which we fitted into the original lamp ring after it had been powder coated black. Also new ones Flashing we have on ours RnineT installed. Our adjustable brake and clutch levers ensure noticeably more driving comfort. In addition, our RnineT with a modern pota new one Linksmatching Reflecta new one gas cap and one footrest system fitted. Our black radiator grille protects the radiator of the motorcycle and at the same time provides another visual highlight. To close the open tubes in the frame, we installed some of our anodized aluminum covers, such as ours swingarm bearing covers and various others frame cover caps. Our Radachsabdeckung mit Emblemdie trunnion coverdie Steering head cap with emblem and ours Oil cap with emblem are other anodized aluminum parts that give our RnineT round off Finally, our RnineT was fitted with new tires with a light lug tread (Conti TKC70, front: 120/70 ZR17, rear: 180/55 ZR17) and a Remus Hexacone Silencer equipped in black.
