Harley-Davidson is a name popular amongst custom bikemakers worldwide and this is why we get to see some truly mesmerizing custom cruisers. Case in context here is the Black Apple by Germany’s Thunderbike, a custom Harley-Davidson Fat Boy with exceptional attention to detail, well enough to make you daydream about it.
Starting down low, one of the most radical changes here comes to the wheels. Gone are the stock 18-inch wheels, making way for custom 23-/21-inch (F/R) alloys. These wheels come from Thunderbike’s catalog and don a unique 10-spoke pattern along with a glossy black finish.
Accompanying the new hoops is a spruced-up suspension setup as well as custom fenders. The suspension setup now comprises an air-ride system at both ends, offering infinite adjustment, while the fenders amp up the visual aura of the build. The rear fender, in particular, is a work of art in itself with sly LED indicators and brake light integrated into it.
Up top, the OEM handlebar has made way for a custom ape-hanger mounted on risers and complemented by an aftermarket leather seat. This makes the bike a single-seater, unlike the stock bike. The OEM fuel tank and digi-analog instrument cluster remain as it is, though.
What about performance, you ask? Well, Thunderbike has paired the Milwaukee 114 engine with a custom exhaust and air filter cover to help bump performance. The engine internals, however, remain stock, so the final output should be comparable to the stock 93 horsepower.
Finally, bringing everything together is the bike’s gorgeous blue-black livery topped with contrasting pinstripes all around. You also get a brawny, color-matched radiator shroud that helps enhance the bike’s commanding stance.
