FUBAR (Part 2)
So going in to COVID, I was already getting to grips with the effects of long term (undiagnosed) diabetes, which had knocked on to my kidneys which were now slipping away. Contracting that early strain of the virus added severe respitory issues, now known as Long Covid, which persists still.
Despite all of this, and my new severely disabled state, I was determined to finish the project.
With a lot of support from my wife, two daughters, and my best mate, Alfie we set about the task. The bike was actually in a ready state by Sept 2020 but then disaster struck again!
On my way from it's MOT test, and about 2 miles from my house, my right eye went. It seems the massive dose of steroids I was given in an attempt to repair my stricken lungs had affected the small blood vessels in the eye, causing a cataract. Two days later my other eye went also, leaving me blind.
So the bike was ready, taxed, and insured but there was no way in he'll I could ride her...
