We're talking, obviously, about the somewhat funny CS_ prefix followed by a number that precedes the actual name of the bike, and the monocoque philosophy. The CS has a very simple explanation: the two guys behind it roCkS!bikes are Alexandre Santos and Osvaldo Coutinho, so the C and S stand for their surnames.
As for the monocoque, this is the path they chose to tread, and looking at this VMAX, we sort of love their choice. For this build, the two Oporto-based builders wanted a radical change. The V4 powercruiser was turned into a drag beast, with a tall seat and longer tail section.
A handmade fake fuel tank
What appears to be the fuel tank is in fact a handbuilt structure that mimics the shape of the tank, but the petrol is stored in the underseat unit. It also lowers the center of gravity and improves handling at high speed, thus serving the drag racing purpose.
A Mickey Thompson rear slick tire changes the rules of the game completely, together with 18" custom-made spoke wheels. The original tacho was kept and it now sits in a bespoke housing. The racing ergonomics are taken care of by LSL footpeg adapters and clip-ons, with a Rizoma fuel cap adding more to the custom looks.
K&N takes care of filtering the air intake, while Brembo brake and clutch masters are also on the menu. The design cues also employ Motogadget grips, bar-end ring-type turn signals and a custom genuine handcrafted leather seat.
Celebrating three decades of VMAX history, the CS-07 Gasoline proudly shows off the white/black livery and the yellow speedblock design that also glorifies Yamaha's 60th anniversary from 2015.
