1980 cx500

I have been working on my bike over the past two winters and I was done until the stator went out against year so I redid it this winter . I did so much to this bike. It's not perfect and I'm not a professional builder. everything is done by hand with basic tools. here are some up to date pictures with narration

This is the bike when I got it from my uncle. It started up but didn't charge. There was alot of dirty/rusted parts on it. also if you know about these bikes ,the engine has to come out in order to do the stator. and that's when this all started ......

so I tore out the engine and rebuilt the carbs which had a half bowl full of water and calcium build up.

I replaced the stator and the mechanical seal which I had to have the hole bored out because they dont make the seal for this year. They only make the larger one that is 81 and up. 32mm vs. 78' to 80' 28mm. Anyway I painted the engine with low gloss black paint it came out good

I had the engine back in with the new exhaust and handle bars
