The history of the building of a cafe racer. The part one is about the donor ...

Every man should plant a tree, raise a son and build a cafeteria racer ... It seems that the well-known folk wisdom sounds like this with a list of what shoul be done in this life. After the first two points ere done, I decided to build my racer cafe.
I had just to find a suitable donor, remove all unnecessary, then add missing parts, dismantle it to the ground, restore everything, collect, adjust and ride. In the process of searching, it was determined that it would be a Japanese of the 70s - early 80s. Straight tubular frames, beautiful open air-cooled engines, spoke wheels, reliability and reasonable price, all these make the motorcycles of that time the ideal donors for creating a custom cafe racer.
When you want, you'll get thousands of roads, when you do not want - thousands of obstacles ... - says another popular wisdom.
I really wanted to, and soon the Suzuki GS1000G appeared in my garage.

From the Internet space it turned out that this model is not often used as a donor for creating customs. In this fact it was a great advantage for me, because since childhood I was passionate about everything that is rare and exclusive. And at the same time there was some mystery here, because the younger colleagues in GS 400, 550, 850 class are much better with rework.

I do not know what is the secret, but I did not notice any problems with the GS1000G. Well, the tourist, the heavy one (255 kg), a big tank (22 liters), four cylinders, cardan, pneumatic shock absorbers, three plastic bags and a windshield with a radio tape recorder, silvery blue color. But...
Look at the root! - says another wisdom.
So, I looked. And the frame is although not perfect in its form, but does not require a dozen of additional parts. It was enough to shorten the tail part and remove the supports for the rear steps.
A kit, trunks and a bag with headlights will be for sale.
The engine volume is 997 cc, 90 hp of power with four cylinders and four Mikuni carburettors. As it turned out now, with its daily use the bike is a source of adrenaline and unbridled wild energy, which my inexperienced body has never received in such portions.
Cardan and rear pneumatic shock absorbers with a pressure sensor are a big bonus in riding.

Cast wheels with tubeless tires are easily transformed by manipulating of the color.
The fuel and gear shift sensor are a very convenient option.
Therefore, only the external transformation of the motorcycle has left to be done, where I saw my main task ...
To be continued.
